My Homestay Sister

This is Yoojin Lee, she called herself "homestay sister" :) SO cute! She is 16 and has a twin sister named Junsik. She told me that her favorite food is crepe and that she dreams of being a pianist. I can't wait to hear her play the piano! Oh man, just 11 more days and I will be on my way to Korea! I can't wait! They seem so welcoming already!

I am still debating on what food I should cook them as an "American meal" Do you have any suggestions? Now I am thinking about doing home made biscuits and gravy with eggs, french toast, pancakes, orange juice, man I am making myself hungry! Let me know what you think.

ps...I just got this picture in, this is Junsik! :) the other twin! She loves computer games and she also likes sports (most of all her bike) =]

City of Henderson- Council Meeting 6/15/10

We were presented to the City Council :)

Scavenger Hunt Fundraiser 6/19/10

We are so blessed! We ended up raising $735.00!!! One of the city council men gave a generous donation of $500.00 and said enjoy you trip! :)

My mom, aunt, cousin Abraham, and my self were all on a team. We started off planning everything out so that we could get as many things done at once. We had a great time!

I apparently still get car sick! I was in the back seat for about 20 mins and we had to get a picture at Taco bell- now I can say that I have thrown up at Taco Bell in their bathroom stall! SO gross! After I threw up I felt a million times better! The rest hunt was so much fun! I felt like I was on the amazing race or something.

We ended up coming in 3rd place out of 4 teams! hahaha! We wont 4 games to King Putt and then we also won 16 tickets to the 51's game. I am pretty excited about those because I love baseball.

Overall thanks to Krista for putting together a fun full day! Also thank you for everyone that came and supported me and my team :)

Korea is almost here!

21 days till Korea!
I am so excited to go! Last night we got to meet the city council last night. It was such a honor to be introduced to the council and shake hands with Mayor Andy Hafen! Bob Cooper said that "He couldn't have picked a better group than the 6 of us!" Myself, Judit, Schyler, Zach, Travis, and Krista are going to be Youth Ambassadors for the City of Henderson. The six of us will be teaching conversational English to Korean 3-6th grade students.

It was awesome- I have always known the Korean's to be big on gift giving. But never did I think we would get gifts before we even got there! Last night we got a gift bag full of 2 informational books on Korean Culture, a dvd, and a whole bunch of post cards so that we can write our family/friends while we are away.

I am now looking forward to our FUNdraiser that is on Saturday. We are doing a scavenger hunt for the six of us to raise some spending money and pay bills while we are gone. We got a lot of people to donate things for prizes! We will have Lance Burton tickets, Area 51s tickets, gift cards, cash prize, and lots more! I hope lots of teams sign up! I think it will be a blast!

Well hopefully I can get a picture of us all with the city council last night. As soon as I do I will post it up :)
